Simple enough to add to your morning smoothie, your favorite soup recipe or even your juice!
Broccoli – known to boost your immune system, reduce cholesterol and has anti-inflammatory traits. Broccoli is also full of fatty acids and omega 3s.
Celery – Anti-inflammatory, lowers your cholesterol, reduces blood pressure and risk the of heart disease. Celery has no calories and are full of anti-oxidants and vitamins K, C, B6, potassium, and folate.
Garlic – Not only tastes great and can season any dish, it also lowers risk of diabetes by improving your insulin sensitivity and lowers cholesterol.
Kale – One of my absolute favorites! No fat, very low caloric count, loads of Vitamin K and improves blood clotting and bone health.
Cucumber – A great snack sliced up alone, but can be added to a salad, smoothie or juice as well! It cleans your system because it is 96% water, but it is also high in vitamin A, B, C, potassium, and Magnesium. This little green vegetable helps to fight cancer and improves kidney function. Yes, please!
Avocado – I love it on toast, in a smoothie, in a salad, as guacamole or really anywhere anytime! Avocados are packed with vitamins and minerals and are rich in fiber. They also help lower blood sugar and aid in weightloss.
Spinach – Popeye had it right! Not only does it make you feel great, although you probably won’t sprout ridiculous biceps in a matter of seconds, spinach helps control blood sugar levels, reduces blood pressure, and is full of anti-oxidants that reduce sugar levels.
Parsley – An amazing herb that can spruce up any dish or juice! It is full of anti-inflammatory qualities, can relieve pain, improve your immune system, and helps with indigestion. Having a spicy dish? Throw some parsley on it to aid in your digestion because no one wants to sit out a delicious meal due to fear of stomach upset!!
Tomato – These delicious red morsels are full of vitamins and minerals such as copper, potassium, and magnesium. They are high in fibre and known for lowering cholesterol and improving heart health.
